Great Britain Life of Queen Victoria 2026 £5 Silver Proof Coin

Great Britain Life of Queen Victoria 2026 £5 Silver Proof Coin

An official issue of Britain’s Royal Mint, this sterling silver Proof coin pays homage to the long life and record-breaking reign of one of Britain’s most famous figures – Queen Victoria.

When Queen Victoria was born, in 1819, few people would have thought that she would become queen. As fate would have it, however, she moved up the line of succession and ultimately acceded to the throne upon the death of her uncle, William IV, in 1837. The last British monarch of the House of Hanover, Queen Victoria ruled for more than 63 years, becoming Britain’s longest reigning monarch in the process. Britain’s political, economic and cultural transformation during her time in power was so significant that the period was dubbed the Victorian Era.

Capturing the longevity of this iconic British ruler, the broad crown-sized flan of this coin bears a design based on two famous sculptures, representing both the youthful Queen Victoria and ‘the Mother-Queen’ she became in the later years of her reign. Symbolising the power of the monarchy, the Royal Orb is also depicted upon the reverse, along with a delicate lace pattern inspired by the Honiton Lace of the queen’s wedding dress. Struck to Proof quality from sterling silver, each coin is housed within a Royal Mint case, with packaging that references Queen Victoria’s famous Journal entries, revealing insightful autobiographical details and the monarch’s personal tastes.

An exclusive release, with the limited edition set at a surprisingly low 2,500, our allocation has naturally been tightly restricted. Don’t miss this crucial opportunity – click add to cart now!
