Great Britain Freddie Mercury 2025 £2 Colour 1oz Silver Proof Coin

Great Britain Freddie Mercury 2025 £2 Colour 1oz Silver Proof Coin

A sparkling tribute to one of the greatest performers to ever grace the stage, we are delighted to present the Royal Mint’s Freddie Mercury 2025 £2 Colour 1oz Silver Proof Coin!

Born Farrokh Bulsara, Mercury fled to England from Zanzibar with his family in 1964, following the Zanzibar Revolution. In 1970, he, along with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, formed Queen. With Mercury the most flamboyant of frontmen, Queen became one of the most famous bands in the world, with a string of iconic hits throughout the 70s and 80s. Mercury died in 1991, aged 45, due to complications associated with AIDS, but his legacy is eternal. He was, and will always be, a true legend of music.

Capturing the spirit, the passion and the energy of Freddie Mercury, this official British legal tender coin is struck to Proof quality from 1oz of 99.9% pure, glittering silver. Spanning 38.61mm, the expansive flan forms the perfect venue for the depiction of Mercury, mid-performance at the top of his game. An officially licensed product, produced in collaboration with Mercury Songs Ltd, each coin is housed in an official Royal Mint case, with the packaging detailing the life and career of the charismatic singer-songwriter.
