Titled ‘Ngana Nyitting’, which translates as ‘My Dreaming’ in the Yamatji (Ngana) and Nyungar (Nyitting) languages, this official release unites a $3 Australian stamp with an Australian legal tender $1 coin from the Perth Mint. Both the stamp and the coin carry the artwork of passionate artist Kevin Bynder!
A proud Whadjuk-Yuet-Ballardong man, Kevin has created many Indigenous guernsey and shirt designs for major sporting franchises, as well as many public and private murals around Perth. Celebrating Kevin’s Nana’s Country, the full-colour designs of the coin and stamp found in this release depict the Yonga (kangaroo) and Weitj (emu), as well as the bottlebrush tree used as both medicine and foodstuff. Also depicted are the waterways, made by creator, Waagyl (the Rainbow Serpent), the Ngaangk (sun), the giver of life, and the Mardaa (ochre) used for paint in ceremonies.
A strictly limited edition, a mere 7,500 of the Ngana Nyitting 2025 $1 Green Emu Stamp & Coin Cover have been issued. With our allocation tiny, and a sell-out anticipated, we must – in the interests of fairness – impose a limit of five per household.
