Australia George V 1926 Halfpenny Half Moon Variety PCGS MS63RB (Choice Uncirculated Red Brown)
One of the more spectacular Australian predecimal Varieties, we are delighted to present the King George V 1926 Half Moon Halfpenny – in sensational Choice Uncirculated condition!
Struck exactly 100 years ago, the 1926 Half Moon Halfpenny is distinguished by a crescent-shaped line running through Bertram Mackennal’s portrait of King George V on the obverse. This line was caused by a crack in the die, with, intriguingly, another die crack causing a line running from the back of the King’s crown. Thus, this type is sometimes referred to as a Half Moon/Pigtail Variety!
Always highly sought after, regardless of the grade, we have rarely offered this coin in anything better than well circulated condition. A spellbinding example, the coin before you has been graded by leading independent 3rd party coin verifiers Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) at MS63RB – Choice Uncirculated Red Brown!
Unquestionably very scarce in such a superb state of preservation, we have just one example available. Don’t ignore this landmark opportunity – click add to cart now!
