Australia George V 1925 6-Coin Set PCGS MS62-MS66 (Uncirculated-Gem Uncirculated)

Australia George V 1925 6-Coin Set PCGS MS62-MS66 (Uncirculated-Gem Uncirculated)

It is with great pride that we present a truly great Australian rarity – the COMPLETE King George V 1925 6-Coin Set in Choice Uncirculated to Gem Uncirculated quality!

Struck just over a century ago at the Melbourne and Sydney branches of the Royal Mint, the coins of 1925 are seldom offered in superior condition. With so many lost over time, heavily circulated or, in the case of the sterling silver, melted for the intrinsic value, these coins are unquestionably scarce in the upper echelons of quality. They are virtually never seen as a complete 6-coin set in Uncirculated quality and better!

Although every 1925 denomination is scarce in better grade, the key to this rare collection is the 1925 Penny. Australia’s second lowest mintage penny, the 1925 Penny had a mintage of 117,000. Even given the small Australian population, this was tiny for the era. The annual average George V penny mintage was over four million, and if it wasn’t for the accidental striking of the 1930, the 1925 would be Australia’s rarest issued penny date. With so few struck, and 101 years having passed since issue, it’s no surprise the 1925 Penny is so tremendously rare in the state of preservation seen here.

The headlining act of a truly outstanding collection, the 1925 Penny has been graded by leading independent 3rd party coin verifiers Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) at MS62BN – Uncirculated Brown. One of the lower mintage issues of the 1911-64 Halfpenny series, the 1925 Halfpenny is graded MS63BN – Choice Uncirculated Brown.

As for the silver, the threepence in this set is graded MS66 (Gem Uncirculated) – the highest PCGS-graded 1925 Threepence! No examples have been graded higher by PCGS! The sixpence is graded MS62 (Uncirculated), with the shilling and florin at MS63 & MS64 respectively – the equivalent of Choice Uncirculated. The 1925 Florin is extremely rare in the exquisite condition apparent here. Underpinned by razor-sharp detail and subtle yet entrancing toning, the florin included in the 1925 6-Coin Set before you is a coin of immense eye-appeal – a truly beautiful example.

Individually magnificent, the six 1925 coins before you move to an entirely new level when united as a complete collection. Representing a compelling combination of history, beauty and rarity, this is a collection for the connoisseur.

With, naturally enough, only one King George V 1925 6-Coin Set available, immediate action is essential.
